Go Karts

I am sure you have all seen the giant red
coke can at the side of the motorway in
Marbella. This is where Funny Beach is
located. It is difficult to see from the road
what is actually there, so we investigated
further and were pleasantly surprised to
find a hive of activity ranging from high
speed go karts to more sedate
trampolines for the kids.
When we arrived we met Santiago who
showed us straight away to the go karts
where we wasted no time and started our
first race. There were different karts for
different levels, we chose the biggest,
fastest karts but there are smaller ones
available for children.
We were surprised at just how fast these
go karts are and with a bit of bravado it is
quite easy to power slide around the
corners but in complete safety. The track
is quite long and windy so there is plenty
of opportunity to test your skills as a
potential racing driver. Once our 8
minute stint was over, we went over to
the trampolines and were soon jumping
up to 6 meters in the air and doing front
and back flips with the help of the
attached giant elastic bands.
After all the jumping around we went and
sat down in the chiringuito which is right
on the beach, for a much needed drink.
As we sat here looking out across the
ocean I drew the short straw to test the
space ball which catapults two people up
to 50 meters in under 2 seconds.
Fortunately though the space ball was
out of action for maintenance which
allowed me to save face in front of my
colleagues.
Also available at funny beach are mini
quads, mini coin operated go karts,
motorised bumper boats,kids trampolines
and indoor games room with pool table
and arcade games, so this makes Funny
Beach a great place for the whole family
to enjoy a fun packed day out especially
now that the school holidays are drawing
near.
