Fuengirola

fuengirola_beachFuengirola is situated just 25km from Malaga International Airport and is one of the most popular tourist destinations on Spain’s Costa del Sol. One reason is the easy access by road, rail or bus. This bustly cosmopolitan town on the Mediterranean is at it’s peak during the summer months when thousands of tourist’s arrive to enjoy their summer holidays. Fuengirola enjoys seven kilometres (five miles) of clean sandy beaches, stretching from the Sohail Castle to the west and Torreblanca to the east and is one of the reasons why Fuengirola is so popular with european travelers. Fuengirola started off as a tiny fishing village, but has become a town filled with character. The arrival of many up-market tapa bars and good restaurants, mixed with chic boutiques and many other interesting shops, as well as fabulous beaches, makes it an ideal holiday destination. Plaza de la Constitución is the main square and has been re-designed but still holds a unique enchantment. It looks pretty especially at Christmas, when it is decorated with very attractive lights and ornaments.
